Is a month enough time to learn all this stuff?

After 5 months at a company, I transfer to a different department. The company has 2 different departments, one that sorts, and one that asset tests. I went to sorting.

In sorting, we go through hundreds of items a day. These items come as servers, routers, harddrives, computers, laptops, tablets, phones, portable power supplies, monitors, TVs, and then a few misc things like game consoles, or a intercom.

All of these things get broken down by parts as much as we can after we disassemble them. Sometimes its simple as a button press, sometimes it requires a 6-8 sided star shaped screw of a specific size. Somethings we count, dont count, or scan into our system.

The sorting has about 15 different areas, 12 of these we put stuff there every single day. Then 3 of these areas we'll put something there once a week.

I would sometimes forget about these 3. Or wait to ask if this item goes to a specific category before putting it in there, which would actually make them mad sometimes.

Well, whenever I would forget about one of these things, they'd get quite angry. Lots of yelling. Honestly, it didnt bug me much. I'd brush it off and keep trying my best. But after about a month, they said they're going to get rid of me send me back to my old department. I dont know if my memory is just bad, but Im just not going to remember putting 1 out of 105 items in one area one week.

I ended up quitting. I know, bad idea. But I was going to be fired anyways.

But is a month really enough time to remember that much? I feel lost.
