Its frustrating and discouraging. Maybe its happened many times before and I convinced them to keep me and rolled with the punches, but there's been many jobs I'm noticing lately in which I'm getting told that I'm not engaged/interested the first day and told not to come back. Some of these day1's are orientation which isn't even completely on the job yet where I'm actually writing down notes, asking questions, being respectful.
However some things I can pinpoint that may be hurting me are:
1)Asking questions about the company even mentioning I wasn't able to find on the page or couldn't look through the whole thing yet....founder name, when company was founded, locations, etc.
2)Taking a long time in the bathroom
3)Needing to get my phone from car if needed during onboarding process
4) Started writing down notes later than I should
5)Not asking the trainer or whoever to slow the F--- down to make sure I'm in sync
6) Discouraging conversation that deviates from the task, etc. at hand(trying too hard to be professional I think this drags people around me down because they just want to talk lol...I'm naturally at least an ambivert and doing this suppresses my energy anyways)
I can edit and add more when I think of it.
This is discouraging because I know that its not even optimal business management practice(MBA-Management program plus google) to try to let an employee go day 1 for being disengaged/not interested without even mentioning it to them/coaching them/mentoring them aside moving forward yet this happens to me. Combine that with trying to be financially stable. I really need help on this right now. Thanks
