Help! Just got accepted to new job and they want me back for signing papers, but I can't find my social security card

I'm freaking out and I'm not sure what the best subreddit was for this. So I've been job hunting lately, had a couple interviews, and finally got accepted. I need to go back on Wednesday with two forms of ID and then I'll have to sign some paperwork.

I have always kept my social security card in one place, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I already filed for a replacement but there's no way its gonna get to my house on time. I plan on continuing to look for the card until Wednesday, but what should I do if I really can't find it or get the new one in time?

Should I call the person who interviewed me and ask for an extension? I don't have a passport, only a driver's license. I don't want to seem like an irresponsible person by calling. This really isnt like me to misplace something this important.

I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
