Hi r/jobs,
Perhaps this is ridiculous and silly but I am freaking out because I let myself give a recruiter the last 4 digits of my social to move forward with a job application process. The job is for a government position. Actalent is apparently legit and from my research the practice of asking for the last 4 digits is relatively common but I am still freaking out. That and I dont know what to do if I HAVE made a big mistake. Part of me wants to press the eject button and block the guy but I also want to know everything is legit. I didnt give him my DOB but if I DO get an offer, I would be working for the government THROUGH the talent agency. I dont know what to do or whether or not Ive missed huge red flags. The guy is on Linkedin and has been emailing me from his Actalent email address. Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks in advance.
