A company I interviewed with said they would get back to me by this week and they still haven't. I only have until next Wednesday to accept an offer from another company. Should I get pushy?

Company A interviewed me last week and said I can expect to hear back some time next week (which would be this week). It's Thursday evening and I've still heard nothing. Meanwhile, Company B gave me an offer yesterday and gave me up to next Wednesday to think about it. If I had a choice, I would much prefer working for Company A, but I'm worried they might not get back to me before the deadline, especially since Monday is a federal holiday.

Is it time to get pushy and e-mail/call them asking for an update? Should I mention the situation and that I need an answer by next Wednesday? I don't want to push them too hard, but literally nothing will matter if they don't give me an offer by Wednesday.
