I work in a distribution centre for a large supermarket chain. It's basic warehouse work, picking and packing. I hate it. I've somehow managed to get on with it over the past few weeks after my initial trouble settling in but man, it made me realise how fucking awful an unfulfilling job is. How the fuck do people do this for their whole lives? How? How in the fuck could you do this for your whole life?
That's such a waste of... everything. A waste of consciousness; of intelligent, creative consciousness. A waste of a human life. I thought about how much time is WASTED being at work 4-5 days a week for 8 hours or more. It feels so crushing. This is why young people become socialists/communists, isn't it? It sucks. I don't hate capitalism, I don't blame capitalism, but doing an unfulfilling job is one of the worse feelings in the world.
If I cannot achieve what I want to achieve and soon-ish begin working in the field I want to work in, do what I want to do, I think suicide is a preferable alternative to living an unfulfilling and unsatisfactory life.
