Job transition

I have an offer from another team at my workplace in FAANG. My new manager wants me to start in 2 weeks but the transition conversation hasn’t happened yet. I also have a project that I just started working on in the current team. There’s a meeting in 2 weeks for it and I don’t want to attend it as I haven’t done much for it. Is it better to tell my current manager right away or wait for a week? Which would be a better move so I don’t deal with this new project and the upcoming meeting.
