Is it okay for me (F21) to tell my boss I can only work one day per weekend?

Hi. I work a part-time job and am starting college classes next week. She asked for my availability and I told her I was only unavailable on Sundays and Mondays. She emailed me back saying that she could not guarantee Sunday off. I do not want to work Saturdays and Sundays every weekend because I need at least a day to work on my regular homework and Master’s thesis. Is it okay for me to ask to only work one day a weekend, whether it be Saturday or Sunday? I really want to keep this job but it can’t interfere with me getting class stuff done. Thank you :)
