Last week I applied to a customer service position for TD bank and received a call to schedule for a facetime interview on 8/12. I felt very unprepared before the interview and started getting nervous even before the interview began. After completing this interview, I feel as if I did not get the job because the store manager asked "What do you know about the company?" I responded with, "From looking at the mission statement, the company makes sure that they give the best customer service and make sure that their customers happiness comes first". Then, the manager asked, "What else do you know?" I responded with.. "That's about all, mostly great customer service." Another question that the store manager asked me was "If I was to call your previous boss and ask them good things about you, what would they say? Also, what things would they said that you need to improve on?" I responded with, "I believe my old boss would tell me that I provide excellent customer service and gain the trust of the customers and and as for improvements, I believe he would say.. _____________" I actually paused to think about what my boss would say I need to improve on and the manager was just waiting for my response. After I couldn't think of anything, I told the manager that "I'm very sorry, I do not have an answer to that question right now, would I be able to come back to it?" We actually never came back to that question at all.. After that, the manager wrapped up the interview saying that he will be interviewing several candidates this week and that there will be a 2nd interview for those that receive a call back and how the training will be provided. I really feel like out of the 6-7 questions that were asked to me, I messed up on the two questions that I mentioned above. Towards the end, I only asked 1 question which was "What are some challenges in this position?".
Since I did not have the manager's email but I do have his direct cellphone number that he facetimed me on, Do you guys think that I should respond with a Thank you message? If so, what should I mention in this message? Please help..
