I am having trouble getting a reference from my old employer from place I transferred to another branch 2 years ago, the new branch gave me reference after 3 weeks but old branch I'm still waiting.I've rang to chase it up 1st time I rang they denied me ever working there, I was there 2 years, 2nd time and times after they told me they would look into it and check emails etc. I have job offer and done training but new job is refusing to let me start until they have references from 2 previous employers, I was self employed before these jobs and before that I worked for my dad's company 😩 I don't know what to do , the new employer won't accept reference from my old manager who left company because her email isn't linked to the company. They have 2 character references and her reference. Should I look for a new job who don't want 2 references? What would you do ? I've had no job for 2 months now because I thought I was starting new job after training.
