How to ask for an update on background check/drug test?

I accepted an offer last week, contingent on a background check and drug test. I took the drug test Wednesday. After the test, I emailed HR at the new employer and asked them to let me know once everything is clear as I want to give notice to my current employer ASAP. It’s now a week later.. is it a bad look to ask for an update? What would be the best way to phrase it?

I am hesitant to give notice before knowing it’s 100% official, but time is running out and I’d like to give appropriate notice to my current employer. I probably have nothing to worry about but am naturally very anxious so I just wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions here.
