Going back to healthcare admin/corporate jobs after several years of "other" work... how do I address resume gaps and "old" experience?
Starting in 2010, I dabbled in some healthcare admin jobs for 3 years for 3 different companies, then went back to retail, then did video and film production for a few years (my degree is in this), back to retail, and then in an IT-adjacent field for a mailing company in a different state.
Now I am coming back to my home state and realizing that I need to probably pare down my focus. I don't want to just fire off resumes blindly. I decided it would be easiest to go for healthcare admin again because of the area I will be in. It has a good job market for that industry.
Finally to my question: what would be the best way to go after these jobs after such a long hiatus. The industry has undoubtedly changed. I don't know how relevant my experience will even be. Submitting my resume will definitely look sus because my relevant experience is all old. If I am making a relevant resume though, all my newer experience would need to be omitted. But without it, I will have resume gaps.
Any advice?
