I (37M) lost my job on June 1. It stinks. But it’s the first time I’ve ever been fired, so I had a good run. So I’ve been on the hunt since, mainly utilizing Indeed app because I can load my resume and a good portion of my answers are pre-filled. Yesterday and today, I received offers from two different nonprofits. Both of these offer a significant jump in pay as well. I’m really happy, but I want to make sure everything is good before making any decisions. I do recall these companies’ names from applying, so I know that they weren’t some random company wanting to pull me into a scam (Looking at you Vista Investment Group). And when I Google them, of course a website comes up. But we all know that websites are easy to pop out. I tried to look up employee reviews for both, and each one had like four reviews on Glassdoor but not on any of the other sites like Indeed and CareerBuilder. Nothing stating they were a scam. I know the small number of reviews may be due to being a smaller company. Less employees means less opportunities for employee reviews. I also looked at Reddit to no avail. One of the things that made me wonder is that I never did a phone/video interview. All correspondence was via email. The one email did have a list of questions for me to answer that would be in an interview. That one gave me a job offer via text after I responded. I did look both organizations up on IRS and Charity Navigator, and both are registered. Nothing with BBB though. Does anyone know of any other resources that I can utilize? I’m sure it should be fine but I don’t want to accept something and end up regretting it.
Thanks in advance!
