Has anyone with a misdemeanor worked for biolife? Do I tell them about it? What are the odds it will ruin my chances?
Hey, I’m new here. I have been recently given the opportunity to finally get out of the job I have now and into a real career. I have my second interview tomorrow and I really absolutely would love this job. I realized today that the background check will show my misdemeanor from 2015 or 2016. It’s for a weed charge, very tiny amount, I don’t even think they counted the paraphernalia I had with me, but I can’t remember. I got stopped at a traffic check and they charged me. I went to court for it on my own with no lawyer because I didn’t have money. So it’s still on my record. I know I can get it expunged now but I just learned that today also, so it’s too late. I have tried searching google to see if they hire people with misdemeanor charges but the only thing I’ve found are questions about felons. This is my only charge. I’m also worried if they do an employee background check. I’ve been at my last job for 2 years and it’s all paid in cash under the table. I don’t have proof of this job, however the last 10 years of employment history are documented. I worry about both of these things jeopardizing my chances. Should I mention this at the end of the interview? Should I even bother going and just call and let them know over the phone? I’m so bummed out and lost all hope. I’m at a loss. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also wondering if by and slim chance anyone has experience at bio life and also has a criminal background. Thanks
