Are ants just normal??

I work in a half restaurant half fast food kinda place (have for 6 months) and I found like a HUGE pile of ants in the dining room and a line going around about half the dining room and my managers and everybody was just like "yeah we just sweep them up" and my manager sprayed the pile with bleach and it seemed like I was the only one grossed out by it? Apparently every summer they get an ant infestation and just ignore it is this normal for food places to do? (Didn't know what flair to add, this is the only place I could think to ask this)
