Hello all! I’m in a bit of a dilemma of sorts and need advice before I make the wrong choice. I’m a newly graduated emt with no experience in the field. I work as a delivery driver right now to pay bills, it’s nothing glamorous. I’ve been applying for an emt position anywhere just to start my emt career and got an offer, the pay is low because of my not having experience which is understandable. Now I’m left with a decision, do I work as an emt for low money and do side jobs to supplement my income or stay at my current job and volunteer as an emt at a fire department and get experience that way? I’m trying to think financially not emotionally which is hard and I’m looking for advice from anyone who’s been in a situation like me? Thank you to anyone for any advice!
