I accepted a job, which seemed great at first and loved the owner of the business. I went in the business a few days later to sign paperwork, and it felt much different than what I expected and the person who I thought I would have been working with had left. I have some health issues, which I realized would not be supported here in the long run after what I saw and I have medical visits I would be unable to attend.
Part of the job offer and in the contract was to take a trip to Texas for a conference. Even though I start the job in a few weeks, the tickets have already been booked for me and are non refundable.
I know this is not the right job for me, and feel terrible to change my mind. I wish the tickets were not booked before I started. Do I need to pay the owner back if I walk away?
