I am starting a new job this Monday and I received a work laptop in the mail for it yesterday. I accidentally turned it on when I took it out of the box, and IT explicitly said NOT to turn it on before my start date.
I haven’t opened the laptop since it’s been on and am not planning to until my start date in 2 days. But is this really bad that it’s turned on sooner than IT said I should? I’m really afraid this will cause problems and make it not function or pose as a security/employment risk. Any advice on what to expect to happen would be really appreciated.
