Hi friends! Some background about my situation. I’m 24 F, first generation, five months into a new role at a startup (permanently remote) and this is my first job out of college. I’ve found that when working with my boss, he’s extremely disrespectful to me. I’m never allowed to speak in meetings, he consistently shows up 10-20 minutes late for meetings (he also often answers phone calls and mutes/goes of camera mid-meeting) or he simply does not pay attention to anything I have to say, just answers Slack messages he’s just now getting to. I would really like to get the bare minimum amount of his attention so I can effectively do my job, and I think I should talk to him about his disrespectful behavior but I don’t know how. I also have no idea how the corporate world works (my parents were immigrants from the Soviet Union that worked trades) and I know that now the job market is tough and I’m afraid of my job stability. Seasoned professionals of Reddit, do you have any words of advice to offer me what you would do were you in my position? Again I’m still figuring things out and I’m so grateful for any advice I can get.
