I’ve got a callback to interview for a deputy assessor position in the county assessment office (as in, property taxes and stuff.) The ad in the paper listed requirements as strong math skills, the ability to pass tests to become a certified assessing officer, and the ability to use Word and Excel. Fine, no problem. The job mostly consists of proofing data and answering the phone, as well as handling certain applications.
The woman who called warned me the interview would take a few hours, and to block my schedule for the afternoon of. Any ideas what this will consist of? My math is fine, but I’ve been cramming (been awhile since I was in high school!) to remember formulas and stuff. I can calculate area, I can figure out ratios and proportions, and I can add/subtract/multiply/divide fractions. But I’m nervous about the length of the interview, as if I’d fail a math test they’d give me. It’s anxiety talking, and I don’t even know that a math test would be given for a job interview lmao.
If anyone has any idea what to expect, I’d be really grateful to hear it so I can rehearse and prepare and not be totally blindsided the day off.
TIA
