I'm working and also interviewing at different companies. Most companies schedule the interview through Google calendar so it's easy to keep track of since I have regular work meetings throughout the day at my regular job. Anyway this one company requested a phone interview. Then I made it to the next round and the recruiter sent a confirmation for a webex video call but they didn't send me a calendar invite. The morning of the interview I was groggy from having bad insomnia. I slept from around 3am to 6am when I had to be on calls for my regular job (we usually don't use video for most calls) then I fell asleep but set my alarm for 9:45am to be ready for my 10am phone interview. I even put my phone next to me so I would be ready for the call.
At 10:02am I got a text from one of the managers that they were waiting for me. I texted back that I thought it was a phone call. I rush over to my laptop with messy unbrushed hair, wearing a tshirt and not having removed my mascara from the night before before finally falling asleep. Not only was I late but I tried to have to the call with no video on. But then they said "do you mind turning your camera on?" I had no choice. I couldn't say I had a broken camera when I'm actively interviewing. It was so horrible. Anyway got the rejection today. I just wanted to vent.
