I got a verbal offer on Friday. Hiring manager said HR would reach out to me this week. HR says they’re waiting on hiring manager...Now what response?

So, I applied for a job through a referral at a large company. There was miscommunication between the HR manager and the hiring manager scheduling the. interview... It took about 1.5 months after the call with the HR manager to schedule the interview with the hiring manager. I finally got to meet the hiring manager on Friday and he gave me a verbal offer. He said HR would reach out to me this week with the offer letter, and that he would be off this week.

Well, I followed up with the HR manager today asking for the next steps. I didn’t say anything about the verbal offer in the email. She replied by saying she’s waiting on feedback from the hiring manager and that he’s off. Should I respond saying, “He mentioned that last week. I was just wondering since he gave me a verbal offer and said that HR would reach out to me this week”? or should I just wait until next week when the hiring manager comes back? The job listing got taken down and in my candidate portal it says it’s still in process.
