My own boss called me today to tell me that I was “screened out” for the position. He sent me an email with some of my misspellings (I invert numbers and letters sometimes). I have outperformed everyone on my team for the last two years and have solved data problems no one else has been able to solve (I recover health care overpayments).
I just feel sad. Like they didn’t even consider my past work performance. I’ve been with this employer for over six years and I feel like they are being awfully petty.
Previously I have reported my bosses boss for saying the n word (yea that one). So I’m aware that may have rubbed upper management, but I have a black friend that died in combat (I was in the Army). The fuck if you’re going to say that shit around me and get away with it.
I just feel like everything I’ve done with this company is worth less than a spelling error. I feel like I am at such a loss, almost like I’m numb. Like at least let me interview and then pick someone else.
Is there anything I can or should do? Just feel bad because I’m like a zombie now and I can’t stop thinking about it (and seem to be getting more upset by the minute).
