So I've accepted a job at a multi-billion pound firm. I'm a PhD student currently (soon to be formally) who realised academia wasn't for them, and teaching has always been my passion. I was planning on working for a year or 2 with the plan to start training to teach in September 2022.
However, since then I've been offered a position at my old school which I loved with a sizeable scholarship that beats my new job's salary by some distance.
Is it shitty of me to start this job that was marketed to me as a long term role with progression? I'm not too worried about needing a good reference from them, as hopefully once I'm a qualified teacher I won't have to worry about industrial contacts.
