Tomorrow is the first day of a new job. It’s a good job, pays decent. Decent benefits etc.
Job B posted positions after I accepted and signed for Job A. I have an interview with Job B on Thursday. This job is ideal for my life. I’ve been waiting for them to have openings for about 2 years. So when it opened, I applied. I am well qualified and fairly confident I will get it (now watch me not get it...)
For the sake of paying bills and money I took Job A. And I don’t want to quit before I MAYBE secure Job B.
I am torn. I play in my head at night, over and over, sitting down with Job A to quit within my first month and it makes me sick. I feel like I am just stringing Job A along. But, in the event I don’t secure Job B, I would need them for employment.
What is the right thing to do? Job A is great- I know I would find contentment, even happiness there. But Job B is a goal i have had forever and it’s perfect for my life.
EDIT: I didn’t think to note: a friend recommended me for Job A. This position is new to the company and they weren’t going to hire for it for a few months. When they looked at my resume and after my interview they rushed their timeline to secure me. I feel badly that my friend put their name out on the line for me.
