Trouble with my CV

Hi! I finished my MS in data science in 2020 and took a year off to spend time with and take care of older members of my family . I’ve started applying for jobs now, but I feel like my CV isn’t helping me out. Throughout undergrad, I was actually on the premed track, so my job experiences then were more along the lines of interning at a hospital. I also did not get to do a lot of internships over the holidays, as I spent my time taking care of a sick grandparent. I worked at a hospital lab in Boston the year after grad, but that too, was related to my major in college (NOT data science). Now, my job experience section is full of non-data science positions, though I did put in a projects section which shows all the different projects I did while I was in grad school. Unfortunately, a lot of the positions I’m applying for do have those autofill questions about job experience, so the data science-related stuff I’ve done never makes it into that (even if I do get to attach my resume). Do people actually look at CVs if they have that autofill section? I’d also really appreciate suggestions as to how to organize my CV to make it better? I come from an Asian background, so taking care of older family members and so on is very important for me, but I feel like my decision to help out family has led to me having less work experience. Is there anyway to explain this, or is this irrelevant?
