So I'm 17, and am currently in highschool. I work at a local dominos as a delivery driver, and I dont get paid a wage. I'm a contract driver getting paid $4 per delivery, plus whatever tips I make. I was actually making quite a bit of money, more so than I would be if I was getting minimum wage, but ever since a few weeks ago, my boss took one of my shifts off off my regular schedule. So now I'm making roughly $150 a week vs $250 a week on my old schedule. On top of that, $70 of the money I'm making is going into gas every week, and I have some unhealthy spending habits, but not so bad where I shouldn't be able to spend money. I just feel like I'm putting more money into my job than it's worth.
I often help around the store when it's busy, and really apply myself so I can use my boss as a good reference in the future. The thing is, it's getting to the point where I feel like my co-workers (the ones who actually get paid to do stuff around the store) are using me. They sit in the office on their phones doing absolutely nothing, and they just call on me to go and do their jobs(cutting pizzas, helping customers). Now, as I said before, I have no problem helping out when it's busy, because that effects my job too if we're lagging behind. But when they're sitting on there asses, asking me to do the stuff they're getting paid too do, nothing infuriates me more. Also it's worth mentioning, on a slow night I'm essentially making nothing, so why would it make sense for me to do work if I'm not even making money.
Is it even worth it for me to stick around? I'm debating putting in my 2 weeks right away, but I also want to save some money too last me a couple months, but it seems impossible in my current situation. Any input is really appreciated!
