Former political staffers of r/jobs… what did you do after staffing?

Ive been staffing on the local level for a couple of years now. My boss recently won his reelection so Im good for another four more years, but Im growing increasingly concerned about what happens after my staffing days.

So former staffers, what was your first job after staffing? Was staffing just a stepping stone for you? Did you have a separate goal in mind? Were you just going with the flow and seeing where things take you?
