Hi Everyone!
As you all know, the job market has been really tough. Not for me but for my fiance. He was let go back in November 2020 due to the company setting ridiculous KPIs as an excuse to fire people who didn't meet them during COVID.
When he was first to let go, he put on his LI and resume that November 2020 was the last time he worked there and noticed that he didn't get a lot of people reaching out/offering him interviews because he currently didn't have a job. After 2 months of searching, there was still not much traction. He received advice from a friend of his that said to leave his LI and resume stating he still presently worked there to get more outreaches. It worked.
He was let go in November 2020 and it's already March 2021 which is 4 months from when he was let go. He has a few final interviews this week and I know companies run background checks. I know they verify to make sure you've worked at your previous company but do they check the start and end date as well? Could they rescind the offer if they found out he stopped working there in November 2020? Would it be too late to tell his current interview people the case?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated or if anyone else has experienced this please let me know! Thank you!
