I started off as a temp for a great medical center and plan to stay there forever, if possible. When the pandemic hit, I was unassigned for 7 months. I kept applying for full time positions until I finally got one.
This position (my current) was just a placeholder for me to acquire experience at the organization. The department I work in is for clinical trials, which I have pretty low interest in. And I can’t apply for a new position until I hit the 1-year mark in my current position; I’m only 5 months in. Basically I was desperate and took whatever I could get.
I’m experiencing burnout to the point there I’m counting down the days until I can apply for a transfer to an area of work I’m actually interested in. And I’m not really engaged while working (remotely). What are some ways to deal with burnout?
TL;DR: I don’t like the job I have, and am waiting to apply for a transfer. Need ways to make the process more smooth.
