Should I give my potential employer a follow up call?

I applied to a job at a retail store on Friday that was hiring, and i’m really eager to start working. I really want to follow up with them regarding my application and a potential interview, but I don’t want to be a bother to them. I’m just wondering if it’s too early to call and see what’s up.
