Should Art test be added as Company Experience?

Once I heard a designer and illustrator say, that to add some street cred to his profile and site, he added internships he made at big companies, to the list of the clients he had worked with.

This made sense to me because the industry I'm trying to get in (videogames art) is very difficult, even if you're good, or have amazing artwork, you need to have worked with someone else before to have assurance from the studio or client that you can execute and be professional.

This takes me to the question: Let's say I made an art test, a big company, say, Rockstar Games(example) sent an art test my way, to see if I'd fit to work there, I take 2 weeks to take the test, I turn it in, they ask for an interview and were happy with my test and what I delivered, everything seems fine, later down the line, back and forth interviews, I refuse the offer/or it doesn't materialize, or they find a better fit among other applicants.

Can/should I in the same line of thought, add it to my client list because I collaborated with them during the art test/interview/NDA stuff?
