Rejected from job because of a game?

I’m a recent college graduate and I’ve been applying for data analyst jobs in my area. I applied to a certain company, and a few days later I got an email saying that I have been moved to the next step of the application. They made me log on to their website and play some online game. The point of the game was basically that I had a time limit to move a bunch a bunch of disordered pipes around in order to get them to match up (kind of like an online Rubik’s cube). Immediately after I finished playing I got an email saying that I was removed from consideration for the position. Does anybody have any experience with this? How can my performance on a game make me unfit for a job?
