Indeed asking for a reference letter

Is anyone familiar with indeed prompting a reference letter. I'm not sure if this is something the company requested or if indeed is just trying to get me to waste time :). All it says is 'request a reference letter from one of your connections. This reference letter will be sent directly to the employer of this job.' it's never prompted me to do this before but it also told me to "reach out" as well. Usually companies ask for references if they want them and it's either listed in the app or they ask after an interview. Is this something I should do?
