So I know I shouldn't complain about having a decent job with fair pay and good benefits but alas... Here I am.
I started this job back in May when I quit my last job for fear of how they were handing Covid. And this new job has been fine... Kind of. Covid protocols aren't great but much better than the last place. But the lack of useful training on top of the condescending and threatening emails from upper management on a daily basis really makes me concerned that soon I may be actually fearing my job security in the next several months even though my direct manager says I'm fine.
Here's the thing. When I started I was told M-F 8:30 to 4:30 and 1 Saturday a month 8:30 to 2:30. Every single morning its always something now, company calls, leader calls, sales calls... Inevitably I have to come in between 7:30 and 8 instead... Which isn't as big of a deal as the fact that we are now expected to stay until 6 on Tuesdays to basically be an underpaid telemarketer (and treated like shit by people who actually answer the phone) and now have expanded the hours to keeping the door opener until 6 on Friday and now I work every Saturday. Not to mention that we rarely leave at 4:30 its usually closer to 5 or later. And yet I get yelled at for getting overtime when that's what I have been scheduled...
My anxiety is having a really hard time with this job. Another job was suggested to me... And it sounds great! No micromanagement, no customer interaction which appeases my anxiety and introversion, plus I basically work whatever I want. It sounds absolutely phenomenal... The catch? a 25% pay cut. Which I can't really do because we just bought a new vehicle, currently are remodeling our home with some much needed upgrades that cannot be overlooked anymore plus we need a new roof. And we are wanting to have kids soon..
I just don't know. I really wish it all didn't have to constantly be so hard.
