Going to have a tech screen interview for a Data Scientist position, what can I expect and how should I prepare for one?
I am based in the US and after being unemployed for a whole year and going through interviewing while applying to as many jobs as I can, I finally got one company to contact me. They told me I will be getting an hour tech screen regarding Python and SQL. Afterwards a 45 minute interview to test my analytic and business skills. It's going to be sometime next week (not scheduled yet but was made aware of it). I am not sure about any of it and quite nervous because I don't want to mess up my only chance of finally getting a possible future job offer. I come from an academic background with no real industry experience and mostly familiar with R and Python. I have SQL on my resume but don't really remember much since I learned it once during my masters program but everything else was focused on using R. Python I managed to learn how to code mostly data munging/cleaning and visualizations.
My other interviews, the ones that did a minor tech screening either gave me a mini test/project or just asked me basic questions. Also neither were never more than 30 minutes.
I would greatly appreciate any help or advice.
