Y'all I'm psyched, I've been stuck working retail sales and customer service for my entire professional life and because I had to leave home relatively young I only had time to finish an associate of arts degree before I left home since my home life wasn't exactly safe, and I knew if I went for a 4 year degree and got loaded up with student loans, I likely would be financially tied to my parents for years to come.
I've been looking into assistant and manager training roles on Indeed, but since posting my resume I've had a number of marketing and sales roles paying 40 to 60k a year showing interest in me, and since I've been afraid that all I'm good for is cashiering or moving boxes I'm absolutely thrilled. There is a marketing group and another sales position interested in me, I have an interview scheduled for one and the other I'm waiting for my day off Wednesday to have basically an ice breaker over the phone, but something hit me earlier.
I don't own any business formal clothes! Maybe business casual, but I've never been to a formal event in my life. I don't even know how to tie and tie or where I would find something in stores! Money is tight for the time being since my fiance is currently out of work and I'm paying the living expenses of two adults, but I don't mind making an investment if I'm going to be making a middle class income and easily make that much back. Do any of you have any recommendations on where I can find acceptable interview attire without destroying my checking account? or any general recommendations on what to wear, I typically tend to go for slacks with a plain button up shirt with a sweater layered on top when it comes to interviews but since most of my positions have been retail until now it really hasn't called for anything so fancy.
