So I’ve had a bit of a topsy turvy ride so far, both in education and work.
It took me a long time to complete undergrad because I transferred school three times, and while I have worked a number of jobs in the past, none have lasted for more than a year. I’m currently working in strategy at a bank in Canada, which pays well (90k~), but have been offered a job which I think I would prefer far more (TV producer for the public broadcaster, casual contract $20 an hour). The other major issue is that I leave to the UK in April next year to complete my masters, which means if I go TV I’ll be there for only a year, vs bank 1.5. I would like to pursue a career in journalism once I make it to the UK, but I’m a bit nervous as it’s v competitive.
Am I screwed? What should I do? What would you do?
Edit: masters degree is MBA at Cambridge, full ride.
