Hey there. I'm currently a fourth-year student at McGill University and I'm feeling helpless. I will be graduating in May with a double major in International Development, English (concentration in Theatre, NOT fine arts), and a minor in History. During my time here I did a lot of acting in plays, I was part of a band that recorded a bunch of material and played shows, and I dabbled in writing for the newspaper for a semester. I always planned to go to teacher's college here in Canada, but now I can't really imagine going back to school. So, what could I actually do with this degree? I didn't intern anywhere during my time in school, but I worked a fast-food job, a grocery store stocking job, and I'm currently working as a cook. The last job even offered me a full-time position for next year.
What I'm trying to get at, I guess, is this question: Am I right to be freaking out? Am I screwed?
I'd love to work in communications, some sort of content creation/editing in marketing, or anything to do with my writing, research, and editing skills. I just feel so far behind because I don't have any relevant, internship experience. What are your thoughts? Advice? Anything I can start doing right now?
