is going into phone sales a decent job for college student? or will i be sucked down a hole of despair from the work?

I'm currently re evaluating my current full time job at a car dealership since this semester began and it's a bit more work than I was anticipating. I'm not sure if I'll be able to manage school and work and my work does not offer a part time position. school is my priority since I'm about to graduate community college and transfer schools.

I was browsing the web for alternative work and came across AT&T retail. AT&T seems to have some good opportunities for students like tuition reimbursement (though probably for full time) and more flexible schedule which I need. Plus I'd probably be able to transfer stores when I move to my transfer school this year.

I'm not totally clear on the pay structure, but it looks like it's a combo of hourly and commission which seems pretty alright though I'd have to look into it more.

However I am skeptical of the industry since it generally seems to get a pretty bad rap. But I guess you could also say that about car salesmen and gym sales (previous gig). Is phone sales "chill" or is it something that would plague my soul of guilt and despair?
