How do you apply to so many positions?

I've seen a bunch of posts here claiming to have sent hundreds and even thousands of applications over the past several months... How do you even find so many postings? I'm normally very picky and only send applications to the places I actually would see myself working (in my area), plus, my line of work is not really in-demand (even during pre covid-times), also, it's really hard to find something that doesn't require much experience. Honestly these posts give me so much anxiety, like I'm doing the whole job searching entirely wrong! Should I perhaps change my strategy?
