I have been applying for several jobs every month through various job boards (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc) and was contacted by a company I don’t remember applying to (I keep an excel spreadsheet to track all positions applied to). They do have a website which looks legit, but I cannot find ANY social media presence at all, including on LinkedIn. I agreed to a Zoom call today out of curiosity, and it was a group call with 5-7 other people listening to one guy talk about the company (everyone else was muted with no option of talking). It was a pretty vague company description (event marketing and consulting), and there was no explicit explanation of the actual position being offered. After the call, instructions were to fill out a short questionnaire and you would be contacted to schedule a follow up interview (which-surprise! I was). Does this sound sketchy to anyone? I would have to call out at my current job to participate in this next interview and I don’t want to waste my time.
