I was laid off last month and have been conducting job hunting ever since. I have been thinking about which career path I should choose but it is really hard to make decision. So I come here to ask for your advice.
So far, I have been working in data analysis field for 1.5 year. For now, I may be able to receive two job offers in the next a couple weeks. The first company is in grocery industry. The other position is in health data consulting company, which is currently growing fast.
There may not be a lot of career advancement potential in the first company but the hiring manager is really nice. They have a clear career path for this person grown to be a data architect. This is a little than the career path I designed for myself, but it is still attractive and exciting opportunity.
The second company looks to have more growth potential outside of the company. It will be very easy to find a job in healthcare organization like hospital. The company itself has very bad reputation in the area (2.8 stars on Glassdoor). Most of the employees there use it as a place to get work visa and then leave. I could do the same thing though.
Yesterday, I read a post here mentioned that he could not get a job because he does not have large company work experience. I did work for a couple fortune 500 companies as well as some big private companies. In my opinion, the grocery company may be a better choice because I really like the hiring manager, but on the other hand, I am concerning my future career.
