I went for a job interview couple weeks ago, got past that stage. Next step was references. Also go past that. They got me to come in fill out forms, bring all my details, fitted for uniforms etc and pretty much told me I got the job, but just had to wait for the police check to come back before I could start. Said it could take anywhere from 6 hours to 1 week. It's now been close to two weeks. I haven't heard from them about the job. Should I send a email enquiring? Maybe they changed their mind about hiring me and don't plan to contact me at all. I'm not sure, but hating sitting by the phone everyday anxiously waiting for a call (also never done anything wrong in my life or been in trouble with the police so I'm not worried that my police report came back bad) So should I send an email? If yes, what should I say? Something like just wondering how the police check is coming along? Any advice would be great. I've been stay home Mum for nearly 8 years and took years applying for jobs to finally get an interview and I don't want this to slip through my fingers if there's anything I can do.
