I wrote on my application a low ball-ish offer. $52,800 for a BDR role finding leads for 6 companies. The recruiter called today and said I'll see their best offer tomorrow. The benefits are great so I'm really not stressing that.
This job is more work than I anticipated, and I believe my skills are worth at least $12k more than what I wrote on application in my base salary. Yes there is commission. They couldn't give me any insight on this, so I wouldn't know what my expected earnings is even until tomorrow, but I'm sure it's like $70k+
I'm so nervous. I was laid off due to COVID, and received an offer back in August. I asked the recruiter questions about the offer, she didn't like the questions (very standard questions) and the company retracted my offer.
I know I can't lie about having another job offer, but like can I? I don't think they interviewed anyone else, gut feeling and they moved me through this process SO quickly. Which is amazing, I would love this opportunity.
Of course I have 5 other companies interviewing me, getting very close to the final stages!!
My unemployment benefits ended yesterday, so I'm kind of desperate.
Any advice on negotiating??
