I accepted a job to find out the entire team is quitting (or have already quit). Should I stick it out, or run away?
I recently accepted a position at a small shop (4 employees + owner). They liked that I have plenty of detailed manufacturing experience, and I liked that they would teach me graphic design and a new trade. I accepted a production specialist position with a promise that they'd be training me to fill the shoes of the production supervisor who was leaving.
Soon after I started working, I found out that the current owner only bought the company 6 months ago. In that time, 2 employees quit, and a 3rd is actively applying elsewhere. From what I've gathered, they do not like the new owner's management style and lack of experience in the industry. These were long term (5-15 year) employees too.
Should I take this as a red flag? Or should I stick with it to see what happens? The job has been varied and interesting so far (It combines design work, manufacturing work, and field installations all in 1, so every day is different) However, I'm concerned that I may be the most senior employee in a few months. If this new owner caused everyone quit within 6 months, there has to be a reason, right?
