How to stop recruiter sharing my CV without my knowledge or permission

I was recently contacted by a recruiter who suggested a role and requested my CV. After sharing my CV and requesting updates, I heard nothing back. Due to certain happenings that I would prefer not to detail, I have reason to believe that my CV might be shared with companies without my knowledge or permission. I was also requested to share the CV in word (I didn’t fall for this!) which makes me suspect they may have created an edited version before sharing further.

Aside from letting them know I am not seeking a job any longer, what can I do to prevent them from sharing my CV further? How can I be sure that they have deleted it from their databases?
