Good excuses to switch shifts?

I currently work 5:30 pm to 2 am and have been for 9 months now. I also work the same shift as my girlfriend and we work together from home. We both haven’t been able to do much with this shift and would much rather work 1st shift and get our lives back lol. Long story short, anyone know of good lies to tell our boss about wanting to go to 1st shift? Makes it harder because there is two of us..
