How do I get into HR if I didn’t study it in college?
Hi! I’m a senior in college in NYC with a major in international political economy. I have talked to a few alumni in my university about their careers in HR and found it to be a very amazing career for graduates like me.
However, I’m worried that my major limits me from pursuing this career since I was not an HR major and don’t really have any experience working in HR. I have mainly been a work study office assistant most of my college life and only had one internship which I am currently doing at a small cpa firm.
What should I do to make myself more appealing for HR roles? I’m graduating in May 2021 and I really need a job after college. Should I look into other career while exploring hr options?
