Haven’t been paid for 2 weeks, advice please :)
Hello! This is my first ever post in this subreddit! This all started when I was contacted by this media company who wanted me to work for them. I was like sure why not ? COVID-19 had just started and I was in need of money anyways. A few months pass and all is going well,I’m doing more than I’m paid for and I actually met some great people however disaster struck this month. The company announced that they will be cutting my paycheck by 60% and despite the cut id still be doing the same duties as before..This put me off and I was convinced that I didn’t want to work this much at that low rate but as I didn’t secure another job I was like “okay let’s keep on doing this while looking for another job.Some money is better than no money”. Then for the for past 2 weeks I had done the same amount of work as before but this Monday I got a message from the HR person of the company saying that they would not be working with me anymore. When I asked if I’d be getting paid for the work I had done ,they simply and “conveniently” ghosted me and have been till now. I’m now wondering what are the options I have to seek compensation regarding my wages ? Also this was first ever job and I was wondering if some one would be able to give me tips regarding getting remote jobs? I was the channel manager(2 Youtube channels ),Video/Script Reviewer,Script Writer,CV Reviewer,Thumbnail Artist,Video Idea Sourcer* among other things for this company. Thank you so much!
